The Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) is reporting that investigators continue to make breakthroughs in a number of major investigations, arresting and charging several suspects for serious crimes across the island.
They have given details on two people charged for murder, and others charged with a serious crime.
Romario Green, otherwise called ‘Boo’, a pest controller of Tharpe Street, Falmouth in Trelawny has been charged for murder and wounding with intent arising from the shooting death of Cordel Clarke at his home in the parish.
Also charged with murder is Shanae Walker. He was formally charged by detectives on Thursday, September 5, 2019, following the August 26, 2019 stabbing murder of 26-year-old Deshane Trenchfield, a businessman of Newell, St. Elizabeth.
Twenty-seven-year-old Sean Allen of Dalling Street, Westmoreland has been charged by detectives in St. Elizabeth with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition after police on Tuesday, September 3, searched Allen’s home and found a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol and a 9mm cartridge in a stove.
Manchester investigators charged 35-year-old Rohan Smiley, otherwise called ‘Bomhead’, of Three Chains district, Mandeville in Manchester with illegal possession of firearm and assault at common law. Reports are that Smiley and a complainant were involved in a dispute when Smiley pulled a gun from his waist and threatened the complainant.
In thanking members of the public, the police for playing a significant role in the success of their investigations, the police say witnesses strengthen cases by telling the judge and/or jury everything they know about an event.
