The two men murdered in Parry Town, St Ann Monday morning, August 26, have been identified. They are 35-year-old Kemar Thomas and 29-year-old recording artiste Lancelot White. Reports are that about 9:30 on Monday morning, White and Thomas were in a yard in Parry Town, a district close to Ocho Rios, when they were approached by men with handguns and shot. The men ran off and escaped. Thomas died at the scene and White, who was shot twice, died on the way to the hospital.
Parry Town has been plagued by criminality in the last several months, leading to Councillor for the area Ian Bell making public calls at the St Ann Municipal Corporation for police to increase patrols and their presence. He has even called for the area to be declared a Zone of Special Operation (ZOSO).
