The November 30, 2018 voters’ list has been published with the names of 1,934,860 registered voters. A statement from the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ), Saturday, December 1 said an additional 20,097 persons were added to the list while the names of 3,182 who are no longer eligible to vote were removed, including 2,415 electors who have died.
The previous list was published on May 31, 2018 with 1,917,945 names.
Identification cards for voters added to the November 30, 2018 voters’ list are scheduled to become available by mid-December and should be collected by electors at their respective Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) constituency office.
The public is also being reminded that Voters’ ID cards with a 2017 expiry date are valid until December 31, 2019.
Earlier this week the EOJ reported that it was staring a process to remove the names of more than 200,000 dead people from the list.
