$250M-Building For Law Enforcement

A 4-story, 2,800 square feet building to house the Area Two Police Headquarters, the St Mary Divisional Headquarters, and the Port Maria Police Station, is now being constructed, at a cost of $250 million provided by the National Housing Trust (NHT). The facility will also provide living quarters for the police and a cell block.

A fire in 2006 destroyed the Port Maria Police Station. Since then the law enforcement personnel have been operating from rented premises.
