3 Arrested In East Kingston Murder

Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to the murder of a man and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, in Kingston.

Charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 42-year-old Nicholas Meikle, otherwise called ‘Dickie’, a labourer of Franklyn Avenue, 40-year-old Dwayne Willis, otherwise called ‘Pops’, a barber of McIntyre Villa and 24-year-old Jahlani Green, a Stevedore of Clarks Street, all in Kingston 16.

They have all been charged in relation to the murder of 18-year-old Tyreek Sawyers, of Southern Cross Drive, Kingston 17.

Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that about 2:15 p.m., Sunday, September 15, Sawyers was standing at his gate when he was pounced upon by Meikle, Willis and Green who shot him multiple times.

An intense investigation was launched by the East Kingston police and all three men were arrested and charged following an identification parade, where they were positively identified.

Investigations continue.
