The Montego Bay Police have collared three suspects in relation to an armed robbery in the resort city on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
The men, Jamaica Today understands, have been implicated among four suspects who carried out the brazen night robbery at a Chinese-operated supermarket, in downtown Montego Bay.
The incident was captured on closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, with the footage of the robbery going viral on social media.
The CCTV footage, which Jamaica Today has obtained, clearly shows the group of men, one armed with a pistol robbing the supermarket after attacking and subduing the security guard on duty.
According to the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) an operation was carried out at a guesthouse in the second city between 3am and 5am on Wednesday, January 9, when the men were arrested.
One Browning 9mm pistol was seized during the operation. The suspects are believed to be responsible for a series of robberies in the parish of St. James the CCU added. However, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
