2 Charged For Gun, Ammo Seized In Spanish Town

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a firearm and ammunition seized on Lauriston Drive, Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Thursday, November 22.

They are: 24-year-old James Taylor, a bank teller of Ensom Mews, St. Catherine and 21-year-old Andrew Thomas, an upholsterer of Rio Cobre Drive, both in the parish.

Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 5:20 p.m., lawmen were conducting operations in the Spanish Town area when they signaled the driver of a Nissan Sunny motor car to stop. He complied and the vehicle was searched. One 12-gauge shotgun containing three 12-gauge cartridges was found in the trunk of the vehicle.

Both men were arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Their court date will be announced at a later date.
