Reggae Youths and Faulkland have taken respective 1-0 and 2-0 leads over Wadadah and Harmony in Sunday’s Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League at Elleston Wakeland Centre.
In the first match of the double-header, a 67th-minute strike by Oshane Russell was enough to hand Reggae Youths the victory against Wadadah, while Faulkland secured their win against Harmony, through goals from Ronaldo McLeish in the seventh minute and Courtney Allen in the 27th.
Reggae Youths were defeating Wadadah for the second time this season. They won their March 6 cross-zone match 1-0. The first match between Faulkland and Harmony, on March 11, ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The return-leg of both matches will be played on May 6 at Jarrett Park, where the final will also be played on May 13.
The winner of the Charley’s JB Western Confederation Super League will get a chance to play in the island’s top football competition, the Red Stripe Premier League. They will contest a play-off between the winners of the four confederations, for two spots in next season’s Red Stripe Premier League.
