Angela Brown Burke Ends First Year As SW St Andrew MP With Christmas Treat For Elderly

People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for South West St. Andrew, Angela Brown Burke has welcomed the Christmas season with the Rotary Club of St. Andrew, which staged a fete for senior citizens in the community of Majesty Gardens.

The fete held on Sunday, December 16 was well-received by the residents in the community, who expressed their appreciation for the good cheer, gifts and food provided to the elderly in the area.

“Thanks to St. Andrew Rotary for feting the seniors in #majestygardens #seasonofgoodcheer #peaceloveandhappiness #swstandrew,” Brown Burke wrote via a Facebook update on Sunday afternoon.

Now closing out a successful first year as Member of Parliament since winning the seat in October 2017, Angela Brown Burke and the PNP have positioned themselves to retain the constituency under ‘orange rule’.

It would appear that Dr. Brown Burke has chosen to follow in the footsteps of the affectionate Portia Simpson-Miller – who remained undefeated in the constituency for ten consecutive general elections since 1976.

So strong has the PNP’s hold been on South West St. Andrew, that the last time the Jamaica Labour Party won the seat was over 46 years ago in 1972.
