The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that Ashenheim Road in Kingston remains closed to vehicular traffic, following a major fire on that road this morning.
In a statement just before 5 this afternoon (Tuesday) NWA said the Fire Department is still at the location.
During the closure, East Avenue will revert to a two-way corridor to facilitate motorists travelling towards the Portmore Toll Road. Personnel from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will be on site to assist motorists.
Motorists who would normally travel along Oakland Road, onto Development Road, then onto Ashenheim Road are being advised to make a left onto Spanish Town Road and continue to East Avenue to access Marcus Garvey Drive.
The police will continue to monitor the activities along Ashenheim Road, which will be reopened as soon as the Fire Department has completed its operations at the location.
