BLM Gathering Banned In St Lucia For Now

A Black Lives Matter (BLM) gathering which was planned for tomorrow, June 12, in Castries, St Lucia has been disallowed by the police.

The movement which has gathered pace around the globe has been openly supported by Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, who the Opposition has accused of double standards in the wake of the disapproval, claiming that the Prime Minister has been seen at his party gatherings that overlooked the same Covid protocols the police say is the reason for banning the protest.

The gathering was to take place at Constitution Park in the city center.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow. We will keep you informed.
