October is internationally recognized in countries across the world as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As we increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment of this disease, we do so this year under the theme, “Give Hope. Save Lives”.
Women you are at risk if:
- You are over 50 years’ old
- have a family history of breast cancer
- are overweight
These risk factors put you at greater risk of developing Breast Cancer than others.
- Poor diet
- excessive alcohol use
- physical inactivity can also put one at greater risk for developing the disease.
The disease is more easily managed in its early stages and you are encouraged to do regular mammograms, to detect the presence of lumps and other breast abnormalities.
Remember your Health …your responsibility!
Continue the fight to “Give Hope. Save Lives”.
