Constable Lauded After Foiling Robbery

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of Area One, Mr. Donovan Graham, is commending Constable Patroy Gayle assigned to the Area 1 Technical Services Division for his exemplary service – having gone above and beyond the call of duty, following his quick response to reports of a robbery in Hartford, Westmoreland on Tuesday, March 12.

Reports from the Savanna-La-Mar Police are that about 2:15 a.m., Constable Gayle was off duty when he was alerted to a robbery taking place at a bar in the community. He responded and on his arrival a confrontation ensued between him and three men who tried to escape in a motor car. During the confrontation two of the robbers were shot and subsequently taken to hospital where they remain under police guard.

Constable Gayle received a broken leg during the incident and he was treated at hospital.

The Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the third occupant of the vehicle. He is Patrick Myles of a Clarendon address.

“The actions of the Constable truly show that we are a force for good in so many ways. His quick response to the situation has led to the recovery of the items stolen and placed two men in the custody of the Police to answer to their crimes. The JCF will continue to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the lives and property of all Jamaicans,” said ACP Graham.
