A St. Andrew couple has been arrested and charged for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
They are 58-year-old businessman, Irving Robinson and his wife, 54-year-old manager, Glendine Robinson both of Kingston 8..
They were charged jointly with the offenses of possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and using a premises for the storage of ganja.
According to the Narcotics Police about 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, an operation was carried out at a premises on Hope Road, Kingston 6, where approximately 72 pounds of ganja was found. The drug has an estimated street value of J$288,000.
The Robinsons are scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, March 14, 2019.
The Narcotics Police are once again warning persons that if they are caught cultivating, dealing, storing or transporting ganja without the requisite license/permit, they will be arrested and prosecuted.
