Dr. Neville Gallimore Dies


Former Government Minister and Member of Parliament Dr. Neville Gallimore, has died.

He was also a former long-standing member of the board of trustees for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).

Gallimore served as a Parliamentarian for 30 years, representing the people of St Ann South West, to which he was first elected in 1967, becoming the youngest member of the Jamaican Parliament at the time.

He was a medical practitioner, a dentist, and is the father of former St Andrew West Rural MP Andrew Gallimore.

The former MP and Government Minister passed away at the age of 81 this morning (May 28) in California.

A slew of JLP supporters have paid tribute to him using the hashtag #sleepwell and #rip

The very outspoken Dennis Meadows also added his voice saying “he was an affable gentleman.”
