Protoje’s latest single ‘Not Another Word’
is receiving rave reviews. The single features Agent Sasco and fast-rising artiste Lila Ike who’s signed to Protoje’s ‘Indiggnation’ label. The song tackles burning issues such as gun crimes, domestic violence among others plaguing Jamaica and the Caribbean.
‘Not Another Word’, is a major collaboration with three great artistes showing their commitment to the genre of reggae music in a holistic and positive way.
Protoje will be touring for the next two months but is also focused on releasing new music for artistes under the ‘Indiggnation’ imprint.
Gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards is satisfying the call from his fans for new music. Edwards is preparing for the release of his sixth studio album titled ‘I Will Follow’. The 17-track compilation will debut on July 20 at a pre-birthday and album launch celebration being staged at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
‘I Will Follow’, Co-produced by Edwards and Christopher Wright will feature musicians from his Island Worship Production label which includes Verlando Small, Carlton Jarrett and Collin Phillips.
Jermaine is exploring what he describes as a multiplicity of genres to create an album that caters to all age groups.
The 2019 staging of ‘Reggae On The River’ has been cancelled. The events leading up to the show’s cancellation have been very confusing. Organizers made their first announcement on the show’s line-up which included Damion Marley, Toots and The Maytals and Sizzla. The announcement was short-lived, as soon after a quick cancellation of Sizzla’s appearance was announced.
Sizzla’s appearance and removal from the line-up after two days has angered many fans and resulted in a heavy backlash.
An official statement on the festival’s cancellation was released by the Mateel Community Center on June 18 informing fans of the show’s cancellation.
