The University of the West Indies, UWI, has decided to relax it’s entry requirements for potential students seeking to enter the University come September 2020.
In a release this morning, Wednesday, May 27, the UWI said during a meeting of the Board of Undergraduate Studies, for the academic year 2020/21, the decision was made to relax the requirements with the use of ‘secret ballot’, which resulted in 14 out of 21 members voting yes, to ease the entry requirements.
The decision was also influenced by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
This now means, students with the following are now qualified for an entry for 2020/21:
1. At least two CAPE subjects whether Unit 1 or 2 at grades 1-4
2. Requisite CSEC subjects
3. Current registration for either Unit 1 or Unit 2
