Dancehall Artiste Yanique ‘Curvy Diva’ Barrett and Demarco have teamed up for their new single titled ‘Bunx Pon It’. The high energy single was released on Friday, as the Media Personality now turned dancehall artiste, prepares for a scorching summer following her short hiatus from the music scene.
The ‘Curvy Diva’, acknowledges her absence from the space with new material, but explains that she places her emphasis on producing quality work and rushing the process is not an option for her, in making music that her fans will enjoy.
She hints that she is ready to bring the heat this summer with a couple of new projects and hopes that her fans will enjoy ‘bunxing’ to the new single.
The ‘Bunx’ Pon It’ single will be one of the tracks from Curvy Diva’s upcoming EP entitled ‘Under-Estimated’ which also includes additional collaborations with Kranium and Gage.
The video for the ‘Bunx’ Pon It’ will be shot in a few days as and is scheduled for release in August. The track is now available on all major digital platforms.
Yanique is also featured on the Ligament Riddim with a track called ‘Priority’ produced by Charly Black’s Team Unstoppable so fans can check that out too.
Incarcerated dancehall star ‘Vybz Kartel’ was rushed to hospital earlier this week. Adidja Azim Palmer was photographed leaving a medical facility on July 24, in Kingston, Jamaica.
Earlier this year Vybz Kartel was rushed to the hospital and admitted in serious but stable condition for thyroid issues. Tom Tavares-Finson, who also represents the deejay said at the time. “He was admitted to the UHWI. The crisis has been brought under control. He’s not in danger at this time.”
Based on the nature of his illness treatment is ongoing and from time to time he is transported from prison for medical care. Details surrounding the cause for his latest hospital visit is still unknown, but dancehall fans were definitely on spot to snap a photo of the Gaza Boss.
The finals of the Festival Song Competition take place tonight, July 27, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre. Eleven finalists will go head to head and will be vying for the coveted title of 2019 Festival Song Winner.
The finalists are Vernon “Ramize” Smith, Percival “Dharma” Lord, Raldene “Loaded” Dyer, Alero Perrier, Jerome “Jay” Smith, former Gospel Song winner Edwin Myers, Nester “Humility” Chung, Jason “Iya Concord” Wright, Nickoy “Shawn D” Green, Meckeda “McKada” Henry, and last year’s favourites, Escarpment Road New Testament Church of God.
Guest performers include 2018 Festival Song winner, O’Neil “Nazzleman” Scott.
The event, which is free to the public, is slated for a 7:00 pm start.
Fast-rising dancehall artiste ‘Shenseea’ prepares for the release of her first project for American label, ‘Interscope Records’. The untitled album is slated for release later this year, but producer Russian says afro-beats will be one of the genres included on the project that will also feature fusions of pop and country music.
The artiste is positioning herself to cross over to the international market and is currently using her association to Interscope Records to connect the dots. ‘Shenseea’, has been making the rounds internationally and hitting the studios to maintain her consistency in delivering hit singles.
Her collaborative single ‘Blessed’, which features American rapper ‘Tyga’, has already racked up 16 million views on YouTube and continues to receive major traction locally and internationally.
‘Blessed’, was released under the Interscope imprint.
