A spokesperson from Dancehall Artiste Vershon’s team has expressed disappointment after revealing that the artiste was denied entry to Bermuda where he was scheduled to perform recently. Vershon, was scheduled to take the stage at the BDA Summer Music Festival and was booked as one of the show’s headliners.
It is alleged that upon Vershon’s arrival at the LF Wade International Airport, immigration officials advised the artiste of the cancellation of the festival and that all work permits previously issued were null and void.
According to the artiste’s publicist Shuzzr Smith, Vershon, whose given name is Kemar Brown, had all the necessary documents to enter the British territory, and even after requesting entry as a tourist, he was denied entry without explanation.
National Security Minister, Wayne Caines has hit back angrily at Vershon’s representative stating that the artiste, was “never refused entry into Bermuda because he never travelled to Bermuda”. He told the ‘Gazette’ that there was “no record of Mr. Brown (Vershon) in our system”, or of an application for him to perform.
Caines said no Jamaicans were refused entry to the island on Friday and Brown’s name did not appear on any flight manifests for that day.
Vershon, is popularly known for hits such as ‘Inna Real Life’, ‘Boom’, ‘On and Off Switch’
and many more.
He is scheduled to perform at Beenie Man’s Summer Sizzle Festival happening today August 10.
Congratulations are in order!
