Top Jamaican Producers for Rihanna’s Dancehall Album

Making the E zone this week is Rihanna, Rvssian and Stephen McGregor, as RIRI teams up with these two Jamaica bad boys for her dancehall project. Now Everyone knows by now that the Bajan Pop star is a big fan of dancehall music and has been notably busy as she gears up for the release of her reggae / dancehall album. The project will serve as a follow-up to Rihanna’s 2016 Album “Anti” and is expected to be released later this year. The record is touted as having some of the biggest producers including top Jamaican producers Rvssian and Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor.


Mavada Gives back in Africa

International dancehall superstar Mavado is once again in the spotlight, this time the “Big League “deejay is in Gambia, and was spotted making sure he brought joy to a few tiny faces. The artiste was photographed giving money to kids who waited to see his motorcade. Mavado also uploaded a video to his Instagram account with the caption” Stop and show some love in Gambia”. Mavado visited the African continent for another highly anticipated performance, which saw fans representing and showing support for the artiste in very large numbers.


Lt. Stitchie Returns

The Dancehall Governor Lt. Stitchie returns with his new album titled ‘Master Class’. The album features 17 tracks with collaborations with artistes such as Agent Sasco on the track “If You Could Be”, Fantan Mojah on the single “Dem No Good”, Witness featuring Luki D among others. ‘Master Class’ by Lt. Stitchie is scheduled for release on April 12, 2019, the first single “Angels Surround Me”, will be out this Friday January 11,2019 to be accompanied by a brand new music video. This is Stitche’s 22nd studio album.


The 2019th staging of Rebel Salute, will feature a solid line-up of reggae acts. Also added to the roster this year is international reggae sensation Jah Cure and Dre Island. The two-day event kicks off on January 18th at the Grizzlies Plantation Cove in St Ann. The night one showcase includes performances by Anthony Malvo, Capleton, Cat Core of Third World, Chuck Fenda, Dawn Penn, Feluke, Tony Rebel, Wayne Marshall, Wayne Wonder, The Wailers among others. The artistes taking the stage for night two performances include Agent Sasco, Chalis, Chi Ching Ching, Jah Cure, Dre Island, Davianah, Half Pint, Nesbeth, Queen Ifrica, Rodney Pryce aka Bounty Killa, Yellowman and many more.



Celebrating birthdays this week were some of our very own Jamaican stars. Vybz Kartel celebrated his birthday on January 7, while International super star Sean Paul had his birthday on January 9.
