A former Member of Parliament for South West St Ann is dead.
Glenville ‘Power Saw’ Shaw died August 19 in the United Kingdom following a period of illness.
Shaw came to national prominence when he won the St Ann South West constituency, defeating longstanding Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Member of Parliament, Dr Neville Gallimore in 1997.
Leader of the Opposition and President of the People’s National Party, Dr Peter Phillips said Shaw was known as a strong representative of the people in the garden parish, serving the constituents and the Party at different levels. He had a vision for the development of the rural economy, especially in the areas of Agriculture and Tourism.
