Former Permanent Secretary/ Child And Gender Affairs Activists Alison McLean Dies

The news came last afternoon, Monday, June 1 that former head of the Child Development Agency, CDA, and former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Entertainment, Gender Affairs and Sport, Alison McLean has died.

This sparked many talks on social media from both members of the government and opposition, using the hashtags #SleepInEternalPeace and #GoneButNotForgotten

Minister Olivia Grange via all her social media handles noted that it is saddened to have heard of the passing of McLean while highlighting that she has contributed tremendously to Jamaica’s cultural development.

She was the representative for the United Nations Women Multi-Country Office for the Caribbean.

McLean died last Sunday, May 31, after being ill for a while.
