Defending Champions Guadeloupe are leading in the 2019 CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon in Runaway Bay, St Ann. Guadeloupe won all the girls events.
This is the third CARIFTA multi-sport event and is being hosted by Jamaica for the first time. Ten countries are contesting this year, with more than 140 participants.
The event got underway Saturday morning, August 17, with contests in the 11-12 year old and 13-15 year old Boys and Girls in the Triathlon, and the 16-19 year old Boys and Girls Aquathlon.

In the Triathlons:
11-12 age group, Girls, Guadeloupe placed first, Barbados second and Bahamas third.
13- 15 age groups Girls, the top placing were Guadeloupe first, Bermuda second and third.
In the 11-12 Boys, Barbados placed first and second and Aruba third
In the 13-15 Boys, US Virgin Islands placed first, and Trinidad and Tobago placed second and third.
In the Aquathlon 16-19 Girls, the winner was Guadeloupe who also placed third, with Barbados placing second.
In the Boys 16-19, winners were Trinidad followed by Barbados and Aruba.
The meet is being sponsored by Jamaica Tourist Board and Jewel Resorts
It is organized by Jamaica Triathlon Association.

On Sunday there will again be Triathlon and Aquathlon as well as an awards ceremony at the Jewel Resorts Gold Club.
