Hanover Man Arrested On Warrant Of Extradition To The US For Lottery Scamming

A 22-year-old Hanover man was arrested today, Thursday, September 20, by Jamaican and US law enforcement authorities on a warrant of extradition to the US for lottery scamming.

He is Oraine Gray, an electrician of Haughton Grove district, in Ramble Hanover.

Police said Gray was arrested at his home in Hanover by members of the Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF), Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT) and United States law enforcement officers from the US Embassy.

Reports are that between 5:30 a.m and 8:00 a.m., a special operation was carried out in Ramble in the parish. Gray is wanted on a Warrant of Extradition in the United States of America for lottery scamming related offences such as: conspiracy to commit mail fraud, conspiracy to defraud, attempted mail fraud, obtaining money by false pretence and money laundering

Several lottery scamming paraphernalia including a US-issued visa debit card, an iPhone 7 cellular phone containing names, addresses and telephone numbers of persons living overseas as also banking information, a BLU Dash cellular phone and several lead sheets were seized during the operation.

Gray is expected to be brought to court sometime next week for an extradition hearing.
