The Health and Wellness Minister Dr Christopher Tufton on Tuesday, May 19 announced that his ministry will be employing just about 1,300 community health aides.
The aides are to be employed as the country prepares to return to normal, where more individuals will be venturing out in the public come June 1.
Their work will be to provide assistance with the management of sick and aged residents in communities.
Minister Tufton noted that the Regional Health Authorities began the process of recruitment and these new health aides who will augment the existing cadre of 2,300 persons currently in the field assisting doctors and nurses.
He also said the Health Ministry is building out the necessary protocols for antibody testing of the coronavirus.
