The husband of the police woman who was slain at their home Saturday has turned himself in to police.
Fifty-three-year-old Barrington Whyte, otherwise called ‘Barry’ and ‘Drop’, of Farnbrook Avenue, Kingston 20 and Santa Hill district in Spaulding, Manchester, was accompanied by his attorney Peter Champagnie in turning himself in at the office of the Police Commissioner.
Police had named White as a person of interest on Sunday, hours after his wife District Constable Mellissa Edwards- Whyte, was found chopped to death.
Police had asked him to turn himself in to the Hunts Bay police by 6 p.m. Sunday.
Reports are that Mr and Mrs Whyte were at their home in Patrick Ciry St Andrew on Saturday evening, September 29, when an argument developed and she was chopped to death. A relative who had been at the home earlier returned to find her body, with multiple chop wounds, on the floor. Mr Whyte was nowhere to be found.
