INDECOM Obtains Footage of Liguanea Shooting

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says it has collected video footage of a main witness in the case where a policeman opened fire at an individual who was wiping windows in Liguanea on Thursday.

Reports are that a woman, who was close by, was shot and injured during the incident.

While disclosing that it has collected video footage of a witness in the matter, INDECOM has appealed for witnesses to assist by providing any additional information that they may have on the matter.

INDECOM says reports it received are that at approximately 8:30 a.m., there was an altercation between an off-duty corporal and a man who was attempting to wipe the windshield of the officer’s vehicle.

Reports are that during the exchange the concerned officer discharged his keep and care firearm which resulted in the injury to the woman.

It is understood that the injured woman was assisted to the hospital by a doctor who was at the scene. She was treated and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

INDECOM says it has taken an initial statement from the officer and their investigators have canvassed the scene and vehicle of the injured woman.
