Jamaican Gunned Down in Suspected Gang Feud In Trinidad

Augustus Anthony Williams, a 25-year-old Jamaican national, who was granted residency in Trinidad and Tobago in 2013, was shot dead in Port of Spain on Friday, May 4.

While police investigators in Trinidad have made no arrests in the killing, it is suspected that his death was gang-related.

Police reports are that at about 1:15 pm on Friday, Williams was last seen walking along Upper Oxford Street in Port of Spain.

He was confronted by an armed man during which several loud explosions were heard. The gunman then made his escape.

Williams was later found lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and other sections of the body.

He died on the scene.

The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Center, Federation Park, for an autopsy on Monday.

Further investigations are continuing into Williams’ murder.
