JDF Investigating Emergency Landing By One Of Its Choppers

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding an emergency landing of one of its helicopters in Dunbeholden, St. Catherine, this morning, Monday , November 26.

Security Minister, Dr Horace Chang said the JDF is “doing everything” to find out what caused the emergency landing . Dr Chang expressed gratitude that there was no loss of life as a result of the incident. Reports are only the pilot was on board the JDF Bell 206 helicopter.

Meanwhile, Civil-Military Cooperation and Media Affairs Officer for the JDF, Major Basil Jarrett, said the injured pilot was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition and undergoing medical evaluation.

He said that the necessary investigations and recovery procedures are being carried out, and is urging residents to keep away from the site of the incident.

The public is also being asked to report aircraft parts found to the JDF headquarters at Up Park Camp by calling 876- 960-8776.
