JMEA’s Big Winners


The Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA) on Saturday, October 5 hosted its award ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

Eighteen companies walked away with awards including Red Stripe in three categories: Corporate Social Responsibility, Productivity/Competitiveness, and Top Large Manufacturing Exporter, while J Wray and Nephew took the Governor-General Exporter of the Year Award. Wisynco Group Ltd is this year’s recipient of the Manufacturer of the Year Award.

The JMEA awards ceremony saw the introduction of two new categories the JN Legacy Award coped by Seprod and the Best New Packaging Award that went to The Best Dressed Chicken.

The highly anticipated award which saw an outpouring of cheers was The New Manufacturer of the Year award, which went to Morgan’s Creek, a business started by Joni-Dale Morgan in 2016. The business was formed when the proprietor began embracing a deeper understanding of her skin issues associated with her being diagnosed with the auto-immune disease, lupus.
