Retired President of the Court of Appeal, Mr Justice Seymour Panton is the new Chairman of the Integrity Commission.
A release from the Office of the Governor General (GG) said the Instrument of Appointment was signed by Governor-General, Sir Patrick Allen, late Tuesday evening, October 1, and delivered to Justice Panton Wednesday morning.
The position of Chairman became vacant after Mr Justice (Retd) Karl Harrison resigned effective August 31, 2019.
The other members of the Commission are former Contractor General Dr Derrick McKoy, Eric Crawford, and Auditor General Pamela Monroe Ellis. The Integrity Commission was appointed on February 26, 2018 under the new Integrity Commission Act which was passed by the House of Representatives in 2017. Members are appointed by The Governor-General on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, after consultation with the Leader of the Opposition. Members serve for seven years.
