MAN KILLED IN MONEAGUE, ST ANN

Police details different from street reports

A man was stabbed to death in Moneague, St Ann Wednesday, evening (May 2), in what are still controversial circumstances.

Dead is Adrian Brissett, 24-year-old labourer, of Lincoln District.

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the police force said Brissett was stabbed to death about 7:55 p.m. following a dispute between two men. Their information was that Brissett intervened in the dispute between two men when he was stabbed multiple times.

However, information to Jamaica Today is that earlier Wednesday afternoon a taxi operator complained that another motorist had caused him to nearly run off the road or had “bad drive” him. The man who was operating an illegal taxi went away and got friends who went to Lincoln district where they accosted Brissett and stabbed him multiple times.

Area residents turned on the man who had brought his friends and beat him badly, causing him to be taken to hospital with a fractured skull. The man is in hospital and his alias is known to Jamaica Today.

The details of the events were presented to a CCU officer earlier today to check with the police but when she was contacted two hours later she told Jamaica Today that police were still investigating and she had no information.
