Attorney Jennifer Messado is back in police custody and facing additional fraud charges related to real estate deals.
Up to late this afternoon, Mrs Messado whose practice is mainly in real estate was being questioned by police on two additional cases involving tens of millions of dollars for a well-known businessman and a popular entertainer. They are accusing the attorney of misappropriation of their funds.
The 67-year-old attorney was first arrested in mid-May and slapped with charges after a weekend in jail and then was again arrested ten days later on additional charges, again to do with land deals.
Attorney for Mrs Messado, Christopher Townsend said she made herself available to police today and is likely to be charged.
She is likely to spend tonight in police lock up ahead of an appearance in court tomorrow (Wednesday, June 13).
Messado was first charged a month ago in relation to a land deal in December 2017. She was taken to court on four counts of forgery, two counts of uttering forged documents, conspiracy to defraud, causing money to be paid out by forged document and money laundering.
Mrs Messado was granted bail in the sum of $800,000 and a night time curfew was imposed in relation to those charges, when she appeared in court on May 14 after spending a weekend in jail.
Then on Friday, May 25, Messado, was charged by detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigations Branch (CTOC) for breaches of the Forgery Act.
She was charged with Forgery, Uttering Forged Documents and Attempting to Obtain Money by Means of Forged Documents. She was again offered bail.
