The longstanding member of Parliament for Central Clarendon Michael ‘Mike’ Henry today, June 18 celebrates his 85th birthday.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness shared an image of Mike on a field with the Illusion that he was playing or about to play some “ball game” football and therefore, squashing suggestions that he should retire or that he is unfit to be a minister because of age.
This image, which came after members of the opposition and the public were told that he will be the new Labour and Social security minister, had many asking “why”, and highlighting that seeing Mike’s appointment, “NO-one” should question Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips age and interest to run the country.
Mike Henry is the longest-serving Parliamentarian with more than 30 unbroken years, he will today be appointed as Minister.
