Millions Spent For North Gully Upgraded

In light of the hurricane season, which began on June 1, excessive work is being done in the popular North Gully in Green Pond, St James.

The work which started in April is at a cost of 10 million dollars.

According to Community Relations Officer for the National Works Agency’s (NWA’s) Western Region, Janel Ricketts, the project involves the construction and reconstruction of gully walls and inverts, formwork, and the pouring of concrete.

He also noted that the works will increase the carrying capacity of this section of the Gully and prevent erosion of both residential and commercial properties.

The project is expected to be completed by June, month-end.
