Minnesota State Officials Calls Racism In Minnesota A Public Health Emergency

Following the arrest of CNN’s black reporter Omar Jimenez while covering the unrest that followed the killing of a black man George Floyd, Andrea Jenkins, Minneapolis city council vice-president, reportedly told CNN in an interview that the incident was yet another example of systemic racism. On Thursday, she had called for local and state officials to declare racism in Minnesota a public health emergency.

Minewhile, Minnesota’s governor, Tim Waltz, apologised to CNN’s president, Jeff Zucker, saying he was deeply sorry for the arrest of CNN’s black reporter Jimenez, whom he said “clearly had the right to be there.”
