Police are stating more success in their seizure of illegal firearms and ammunition.
This, after they pointed to 24 guns seized between Sunday and Thursday, September 27.
Yesterday, Friday, September 28 they seized two firearms and 26 rounds of ammunition and took five men into custody in Montego Bay.
Reports are that between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., a joint police/military team was conducting operations which led them to a location on Sunset Boulevard in Montego Bay, St. James.
A room which had five males present was searched. One 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eighteen 9 mm cartridges and one Colt .45 pistol with a magazine containing eight .45 cartridges were found inside the room. The men were subsequently arrested.
Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
