A broad area of low pressure located over the south western Caribbean Sea is producing a large area of disorganised showers and thunderstorms.
Some gradual development of this system is possible late this week and this weekend while the low drifts generally northward during the next several days.
As a result, weather conditions over Jamaica are expected to become increasingly unstable over the next few days.
The forecast is for a further increase in shower and thunderstorm activity, which could be heavy at times, to affect the island from Thursday through to Saturday.
Fishers and other marine interests, especially over southern waters, are advised to exercise caution due to strong winds and rough seas in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
