Mourning On North Coast For Man Killed In Libyan Bombing

People in St Ann and St Mary are mourning the death Saturday, August 10, in Libya of a man they knew well.

Clive Peck, a UN field service officer was killed after a car bomb went off in the Libyan city of Benghazi. A second man, a Libyan, also died in the explosion Saturday.

Reports are that Peck and the other man were killed outside a crowded mall in Libya’s second city, the centers of years of major action against the Government.

The news came to family members and friends Saturday night through to Sunday morning from other Jamaican UN officials, sending into shock many in the Ocho Rios, St Ann through to Rio Nuevo, St Mary area frequented by Peck.

Peck is a former JCF officer and once ran a wrecker service in the Ocho Rios area.
