National Security Minister Condemns Pastor’s Murder

The Minister of National Security, Hon. Dr Horace Chang is condemning the killing of Minister James Johnson, who was murdered inside the Church of God of Prophecy National Headquarters on Old Harbour Road, St Catherine on Thursday, September 20.

The Minister said: “The invasion of murder into a church, a sacred place of worship, is utterly reprehensible.”

The Security Minister said that senior investigators in the St Catherine North Police Division and the Major Investigation Division have been assigned to this case and he is anticipating the reports and arrest of the criminals who killed James Johnson.

“I am urging all persons with any information concerning this gruesome act to come forward and share their information with the police,” Minister Chang appealed.

He said, “James Johnson will be remembered as a bright, passionate Jamaican who was engaged in his community, his church and nation-building.”

Police reports indicate that Johnson, 29-year-old, a religious minister, was attacked inside the church and was subsequently pronounced dead at the Spanish Town hospital.
