New Bowden Hill bridge In Stony Hill Officially Opens

The Bowden Hill bridge in Stony Hill which collapsed in February last year, leaving hundreds of residents of rural St. Andrew unable to travel safely to the Bowden Hill district, Airy Castle, and several other communities, has been rebuilt and is being officially opened this afternoon, Friday June 19.

The new bridge, which now reconnects the Stony Hill communities, was commissioned into service by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), together with the National Works Agency (NWA), and Member of Parliament Juliet Cuthbert. The residents were previously unable to move freely following the collapse of the bridge last year.

I know the residents of the affected communities are happy with the new bridge and we are happy to have been able to deliver it in a timely manner following the contract signing in June last year, said the MP.
