The National Integrity Action (NIA) has condemned comments made on the political platform a few days ago by Member of Parliament and People’s National Party Vice President, Mikael Phillips.
The NIA also adversely commented on statements by Basil Waite, Deputy General Secretary also from the political platform. He referred to JLP opponents as “Nasty Neyga”.
The NIA said the comments “are absolutely unacceptable, must be condemned and are clearly in breach of Jamaica’s Code of Political Conduct signed by both the Jamaica Labour Party and the Peoples National Party.”
In its statement Wednesday afternoon, the NIA said it wished to remind political representatives and the public of relevant provisions in our Code of Political Conduct, which clearly condemn statements which may have the effect of encouraging political intimidation.
