NWC Pipelines Affected In St Andrew

The National Water Commission (NWC) has reported that forest fires and landslides occurring in some areas of east rural St Andrew have caused the dislocation of several sections of its pipelines on its Sugar Loaf Gravity System network.

This has resulted in water supply disruption, shortage or no flow for the communities of Sugar Loaf, Penfield, and sections of Cameron Hill.

NWC says it has assessed the damages and assured members of the communities that every effort will be made to restore normalcy of supply.

No timeline was announced.
