Legal luminary and businessman Patrick Rousseau is dead. Rousseau passed away Tuesday night, April 16. He was 85.
Mr. Rousseau was associated with the law firm Myers, Fletcher and Gordon for over 50 years.
One of the outstanding pieces of his work was the Bauxite Levy of the 1970s which changed the way bauxite companies operated in Jamaica.
He was also involved in sports, rising to become the President of the West Indies Cricket Board. It is widely accepted that he strengthened its administrative structure and finance.
Mr. Rousseau served on the Boards of several leading companies. He was awarded the Order of Jamaica by the Government.
