Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he stands by his statements regarding his briefing of Dr Peter Phillips, Leader of the Opposition and the response of the Leader of the Opposition.
The Prime Minister’s responses was by way of a very brief statement Monday. It was in response to a release by Dr. Phillips in which he contradicted Mr Holness’ version of a conversation between them both regarding Cabinet documents. All this is in the context of the Government’s decision to withdraw an Order that was put forward last Tuesday in parliament. The Order was aimed at extending to 70 years, from 20 years, the period of secrecy of Cabinet documents.
