PNP Says It Wishes Departed Councillor Well

The People’s National Party (PNP) says it wishes Councillor Kari Douglas well as she embarks on a new phase of her political journey.

Councillor Douglas has confirmed she has left the PNP and gone to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). She crossed the floor from the PNP side to join the JLP Majority in the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) Tuesday morning.

In a brief statement Tuesday afternoon, the PNP said it has “taken note of the decision by Kari Douglas, Councillor in the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation, to cross the floor.”

The statement by Julian Robinson, General Secretary said:

“The Party is already well advanced in confirming its new candidate for the Trafalgar Division and is committed to retaining the seat in the next Local Government elections.

“The Party wishes Ms. Douglas well as she embarks on a new phase of her political journey.”
