The Clarendon Police has reported that it has taken 5 men into custody following the murder of two persons in the parish.
The men were intercepted at the Mineral Heights Toll Plaza.
According to the police, 2 firearms and several rounds of ammunition were seized, and that the men were arrested in relation to the fatal shooting of two men on the Frankfield main road at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday, June 26.
The men killed allegedly by the 5 men have been identified as 33-year-old Jermaine Jones, and Allen Cameron, otherwise called ‘Puss’, both of John’s Hall, Silver Spring, Clarendon.
Reportedly, they were driving along the roadway when they were pounced upon by armed men travelling in a motor car who then opened gunfire hitting them.
The police were called and preliminary information received was that a white motor car and a grey motor car sped from the scene.
Approximately an hour after the incident, five men in two vehicles matching the description of the cars were seen leaving the scene and were intercepted by two teams of police officers.
The police note that all five men are residents of St. Catherine, they were taken into custody and the vehicles they were caught in, seized.
A 9mm pistol with an empty magazine and one .40 pistol with a magazine containing six .40 live rounds were found in the vehicles.
Their identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
