Detectives from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) say they are making headway in their investigation involving a case where a 10-year-old girl reported via an audio clip that a truck driver openly made sexual advances to her while she was making her way from school.
In the audio clip the child said she left school and was heading home when the driver started to follow her. The child said the truck driver pulled up close to her and told her to come into the vehicle. The child said she refused and the man continued to follow her.
The child claimed that the man asked her age and she told him she was 10. This did not stop the man as he continued to make advances telling her that he wanted to have a relationship with her.
Fearing for her life the child said she swiftly walked away. She said she reported the matter to her parent, who in turn released an audio clip with the child outlining the incident.
Police say they have since received the audio clip and are probing the matter.
