The Narcotics Police have seized more than two thousand (2,000) pounds of ganja in Calabash Bay, St. Elizabeth on Monday, June 25.
Reports from the Pedro Plains Police are that about 2:00 p.m., Monday June 25,
police officers attached to the Area Three Narcotics Team conducted an operation on a beach in the community. During the search, over 50 bags containing parcels of compressed ganja were found in an abandoned boat. It is estimated that the drug would have fetched over J$10 million had it been sold on the streets.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure. Investigations continue.
