The investigation relating to the shooting of a nine-year-old autistic boy at his home on Penwood Road in St Andrew has begun. Reportedly, the incident took place on Saturday, July 4, and involved the licensed firearm of his uncle who is a policeman. According to reports, the boy was at home when his uncle’s weapon was discharged, and he got shot as a result.INDECOM, which is investigating the incident says it happened at about 3:30 p.m but was not reported to the Commission until a day later.
Understanding this, INDECOM says it is investigating the late notification, weapon handling, and safekeeping, and all actions taken which resulted in the injury to the unfortunate child.
